Gazelle clouds soar over the immense ocean discus rotating without change shaken by the planet’s mortal fever although the waves bring the essence of existence, and far away change into steel and silver like snake skin drowning under the sun’s divine eye. Oh, my beloved and never met, the sea effaces your footsteps and the choir of cicadas wakes to a crescendo commenting with passion on our present tragedy, the drama of this century, in which the voices of Solon and Sophocles have stilled, and righteous debaters in columns’ shadow, at the time when the Gods do not hesitate to come amongst mortals, worship the beauty of earthly women, create demi-gods and heroes. Now Satan has taken their place, hatching his sons under the sun’s divine eye. |
