Speed Limit get the Alma for the best new press, anyone who can pump out that many booklets (24) in so short a time deserves some sort of prize.
The Alma for the mag with the best visual presentation goes to Panda for its interesting assemblage of mostly ripped off graphics. This wag costs 50p for three issues (a bargain!) from 356 Warwick Rd., Banbury, Oxon., OX16 7AY.
Tanya win the Alma for the best first issue a,6 a very presentable first effort it is. Some reservations about the cover which features photographs of the contributors - no names but some of us are odd looking coves. Tanya costs 45p for 40 pages and is available from John Gonzalez, 330 Cauldwell Hall Road, Ipswich.
The Alma for the best cartoonist must go to Joe Hirst who draws the front cover of Bogg No. 40 from George Cairncross at 31 Belle Vue St., Filey, N. Yorks Y014 9HU. This granpa of little mags still retails at 30p or £1 per annum so send now.
OK folks time for the big one - the best poet Alma goes to Michael Daugherty who seems to enjoy a universal popularity at the minute and I can not disagree with this popular view. The award has nothing to do with his Coleman Hawkins poem in Bogg 40 entitled Alecdote which includes the lines; Wont bother us:/said smart Alec.
